Vista Alegre is conveniently located near the main road between Alicante and Alcoi. It is an easy 40 minute drive from Alicante airport, served by both BA and BMI as well as low cost carriers (Easyjet and Monarch). The nearest town of Ibi is only a twenty minute walk away (3-4 minute drive). Ibi has been populated since medieval times (and has a well preserved medieval quarter) and an 18th century ‘new' quarter featuring the beautiful 19th century Church of the Transfiguration. The surrounding mountains contain ancient snow wells once used to store ice for the local ice cream manufacturing business, a long tradition. There is a wonderful daily indoor food market and a more general outdoor market every Monday. It also has a traditional toy-making industry and has a highly regarded toy museum.
